My Aunt cooked us a yummy dinner last night. Her favourite dish is Lasagna. It was sooooooo yummy. I loved it!!
Lasagna Recipe:
1 Olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
500g minced beef
425g can Italian-style tomatoes (watties)
chopped parsley
400g lasagna sheets
1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp flour
1 cup of milk
1 cup of grated cheese
Salt and pepper to add taste
METHOD
Heat oil over low heat in a frying pan
Add onion and garlic until golden brown and soft
Add mince and cook until mince is colored
Add tinned tomatoes, salt, pepper and parsley
Simmer for 5-6 minutes until its thickened
Preheat oven at 170oC on fan bake
In a separate pot, melt the butter, and the flour and stir for 2 minutes. Slowly add the milk and cook until sauce is thickened. Add three quarters of the cheese.
Place a quarter of the mince into a greased baking dish
Cover with a layer of lasagna sheet, mince then cheese sauce. Repeat this ending with the cheese sauce and then add the remainder of the grated cheese.

Kia ora Norman. What a great blog post. I like how you shared the recipe and method so other people can try and make it. What was the hardest bit part of making it? And most importantly was it delicious?
ReplyDeleteHi Phil. The hardest part in making the lasagna is the pasta. You cannot let it over cook. My Aunt says when you eat the pasta it should be tender but still firm to the bite (al dente). The other hardest part was chopping the onions, i cried throughout my Aunts cooking haha. yes it was yummy!
