The Visitor

 

Yesterday morning I went to the airport then I heard  strange noises coming from outside. When I went outside I saw it. It was a humongous robot and everyone started to run. When I looked at the right side I saw a humongous creature trying to destroy the airport then in my head it said I think the robot is trying to save everyone so I said to everyone that the robot was not trying to destroy us. It's trying to destroy the robot, then everyone comes back and starts to record the fight. After a few minutes the monster was running fast and then the robot ran and then punched the monster and then another one came from behind and hit the robot. Then the robot was broken and he was walking towards something that's in the steam then everyone didn't know because they couldn't see the robot in the steam Then I saw something. When I pulled out my phone and zoomed it. It was the robot he was holding. A sword after that the humongous monster was running to the robot same as the robot he was running toward the robot and they jumped the robot and hit the monster then the monster was defeated.

Water for everyone.

 

Once upon a time there were three little pigs who lived with their Mother.  Their names were Jake Kobie and Zac.  As the years went by, the three little pigs were not so little anymore maybe to their Mother but not for them.  Mother pig gave them advice and told her three not-so-little-pigs, Jake, Zac and Kobe it was time for them to go out and explore the world.  So they did.  (In this story it will be The Three little pigs)  The three little pigs search for things that they needed to build. Zac found some hay so he built his house out of hay and Kobie found some sticks so he built his out of sticks and for last is Jake.  Jake was the oldest and the smartest. Jake said to his brothers your house will fall down but his brothers didn't care at all.  When Jake was finished with his house the big bad wolf came.  He was Hungry so he went to Zac's house.  The big bad wolf said little pig little pig let me in. Zac said not by the hair of my chinny chin chin the big bad wolf said then i'll huff and i’ll puff and i’ll blow your house down. Then Zac’s house fell so he went to Kobe's house. The wolf said little pig little pig let me in Zac and Kobe said not by the hair of my chinny chin chin and the big bad wolf said then i’ll huff and i’ll puff and i'll blow your house down. Then Kobe's house fell so Zac and Kobe went to Jake's house. The big bad wolf came to Jake's house and said little pigs little pigs let me in, Zac and Kobie, and Jake said not by the hair of my chinny chin chin then the big bad wolf said then i’ll huff and i’ll puff and i’ll will blow your house down. But Jake’s house didn't fall. The big bad wolf said I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down. But still Jake's house didn't fall. The big bad wolf had an idea he would go down the chimney.   so the big bad wolf climbed on Jake's roof. When the big bad wolf was on the roof he ran to the chimney then went in. After he went in the chimney he felt something hot so he tried to get out of the chimney he screamed for help but no one heard him so he said to himself bye. then fell in the fire...

The Discovery

Excited, the three men were going to discover a gigantic bone. They traveled 80 miles away and it took them days to find the gigantic bone. Until they found it. It was big, almost bigger than the mountain. Their eyes were wide open and the three men's took photos of it. When it was dark they fell asleep. The bone started to shake and the three men's woke up and saw the gigantic bone. But now it's a skeleton. The three men's started to run but the skeleton was too fast . It can run one second the three men's stop because they were tired. The skeleton was coming after them, the men's were acting so the skeleton could not eat them. When the skeleton came he wanted to play so the skeleton went and got a big stick the three men saw they started to cut the tree and build a big hand. it took them years to build the gigantic hand after that the three men became friends with the skeleton. But now the three men have to go back to their town. So they wave bye to the skeleton.

The Escalator

One day ago there was a girl who was going down the escalator and went to do some shopping. She bought expensive clothing because she was rich. She felt scared when she was alone but that was years ago. She is now an adult. When she went up the escalator, she found herself in a foggy forest and she was nervous. She remembered that her mum told her to be brave. So she walked to find her way home. When she got home, she tried her fancy clothing and she was really happy.

Holding on

One sunny day, there was a little boy and his name was Jake who wanted to go on a rollercoaster ride but his parents said no. Jake was sad so he was thinking of an idea on what to do next. Jake wanted to go for a swim with his goggles and his swimming suit so he asked his parents and they said yes. He went outside and ran to the lake. Jake dived in and  he saw catfish so he swam up to it quietly.  He got the catfish tail and he held on to it really hard. 

The catfish started to swim fast, really fast that Jake started to laugh and he was really happy. He said to himself, where’s the fish taking me?'' 

The fish took him to a secret place where no other fish knew. The secret place was dark, he wanted to go home so he let go of the catfish and swam back to the sunny side. He swam up to get air.  When he looked out, he  saw his home. He started to run as fast as he could till he made it. His mum and dad were sad because their son Jake was gone for too long. Jake ran to his mum and dad. He was happy to see them. Jake said to his parents I was in the lake and I had a swim with a Catfish. I was holding on and it went fast and took me to a secret place. I felt scared so I let go, and swam back.

The Artist

 One day there was a man whose name was George. He loved to do art so he drew something. It was a ship with pirates in it. He knew he was daydreaming about the ship that came to life. Coming towards him he can hear it in the sea till then the ship wasn’t real. He was just daydreaming about the ship so he just drew different pictures. George ran outside and saw a pirate ship in the sea. He forgot that his house was nearly off the cliff. George looked one last time, it was the same ship on his paper. 

The ship was coming towards him. Just like he was thinking about. He went on the ship and sailed away to look for a treasure chest with gold and coins. It took a while to find gold so he was bored looking at the sea till then he saw something on the island. It was gold so he went up the stairs and turned the wheel left and there was a treasure chest. He got off and opened the chest. Inside it were coins and gold.  

He was happy but he didn’t want to take the treasure chest because there was too much gold. He looked back and saw the ship gone. He was about to scream but he didn’t want to.  He thought that it was a dream. He was hoping that he was right when he closed his eyes and opened again then he was right. It was a dream. He went outside and looked at the sea. There was no ship so he went back inside.

Isolation

Standing on his porch, Ben drew breath. As the clean, cool air filled his lungs, a smile spread across his face because he was happy because it is peaceful.  Where he stood was far away from the Ocean, and as the sun shone over the lake, dissolving the foggy air he could catch a glimpse of the mountains, a sea of trees, the forest far beyond as the crispy air moved its way through it.  A House on a Rock surrounded by beauty is a border, no fisherman's around on a silent day.  As he looked up to the skies big thick clouds were forming and it began to get dark, the lake was a tranquil place as the sun was covered by a shadow.  Then one, two drops on Ben's face as the rain started pouring down hard.  He ran inside the shelter from the rain as the sound of the wind hurling outside blew strongly.  

Thinking to himself, why all of a sudden the weather had changed so quickly.  Looking outside his window he couldn't see anything beyond the lake but just the water making small waves.  ‘ Could it be a tornado brewing’ he said. 

He looked around the house to check if everything was stable. He taped the windows with duct tape just in case and he boarded the windows with wood.  Ben started worrying a solitary house would fall off the rock. So he got his radio and went under the table just in case it was a real tornado. This felt like a lockdown, living alone in the middle of the lake Ben stayed under the table while the rain and wind was blowing even harder.  An hour had passed and the rain slowly calmed down. Ben got out from the table and looked outside his window and saw everything had stopped moving Roughly. The waves calmed too. He looked up at the sky and saw the clouds shifting away and there a glimmer of the sun shone through, the rays of the sun light above his house. The weather was going to become beautiful again.

Flying High

This was going to be another of his incredible adventures, and he couldn’t WAIT! to find out where it would take him. 

During the Afternoon, Jackson was on his family farm planting watermelon seeds as well as potatoes. While his parents were busy looking after the farm animals and cleaning the house. He was working and working until it was time for his break. Just as he was going to finish up his chores he spotted a GIANT fan and was curious to find out what it does. So Jackson went to look for his parents to find out that they were not home. They had left a letter on the table saying that they were going to the grocery shop to buy more flour and sugar. But Jackson was only 13 years old and had no idea what to do or would happen if he went to the strange fan. He was thinking, and thinking about what his parents would say if they were here. But that didn’t stop him from investigating the weird fan. He sat down and thought to himself, “why would there be a big fan in the middle of my farm”. He thought to himself “should I go? Should I stay?” He slowly stood up to ignore the fan, but somehow, wanting to find out where it would take him or do to him, took over him and his decision. So he went to go pack his stuff that he needed for his trip. He was very excited to see what it does. As he finished, he ran downstairs, out the door and straight towards the mysterious fan. His travel to the fan was not that long. It was only a 5 minute walk. When he got there, he saw a strange man on the floor eating the fruits from our farm. But he didn’t put much thought into him. He saw the big fan but was wondering “how will I get up there?”. Then he remembered, and looked at the man. He had asked “Excuse me Sir? Would you kindly give a hand in tossing me up in the fan?”. The strange man stopped eating, looked up and was staring at him. Then he said “Sure why not”. So he got up and told Jackson to hop on his hands, and Jackson did so. The man was counting to 3 making Jackson say what are you doing. When he said 3, he tossed Jackson up in the air and screamed at him saying “Have fun!”. Jackson got blown away to a place where it was dark and cold. When he got up, he couldn’t see anything and was really scared of the dark. He fell to the floor, curled up and started crying so hard that he should’ve just stayed home, until he heard a weird noise asking him “are you alright?”. Jackson opened up his eyes to see a bright light near his face and a man who was in his 40’s. Jackson asked the man if he knew a way out of here. The man was quiet for a second and replied “Yes I do”. So he helped Jackson up from the floor and said to him “follow me”. Jackson was happy and followed the strange man. As they were traveling they were getting to know each other, but at the same time Jackson’s family was looking for him while he was trapped in a dark tunnel with a man. As they were talking, the man stopped and told him we’re here. Jackson was happy and started running but stopped and told the man if he was coming as well. The man replied “Sorry Jackson but no. This place is my home”. So Jackson ran into the light and was running towards his home.

My own flag creation

Hi Class! Here is my creation of a New Zealand flag. The patterns represents my two cultures Samoa and Tonga. The Maori pattern represents navigators on sea who sailed to New Zealand and the 'New Zealand' represents every mixed cultures that makes up New Zealand as a great country. The fern our common icon that is used everywhere as logos in sports, and businesses.

Rich Challenge: My Aunt's favourite dish - LASAGNA by Norman

My Aunt cooked us a yummy dinner last night.  Her favourite dish is Lasagna.  It was sooooooo yummy.  I loved it!!

Lasagna Recipe:

1 Olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
500g minced beef
425g can Italian-style tomatoes (watties)
chopped parsley
400g lasagna sheets
1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp flour
1 cup of milk
1 cup of grated cheese
Salt and pepper to add taste

METHOD
Heat oil over low heat in a frying pan
Add onion and garlic until golden brown and soft
Add mince and cook until mince is colored
Add tinned tomatoes, salt, pepper and parsley
Simmer for 5-6 minutes until its thickened
Preheat oven at 170oC on fan bake
In a separate pot, melt the butter, and the flour and stir for 2 minutes.  Slowly add the milk and cook until sauce is thickened.  Add three quarters of the cheese.

Place a quarter of the mince into a greased baking dish
Cover with a layer of lasagna sheet, mince then cheese sauce.  Repeat this ending with the cheese sauce and then add the remainder of the grated cheese.

Bake for 40-45 mins

It all happened so quickly! One minute he was standing on the platform, the next he was hurtling through the air, hanging on for dear life, I tried to chase after him. I called out, ‘James! Hold on and don't let go!’.  James called out, ‘Dad help me, I’m scared’. 
“Hold on tight James, and don’t let go!”  I ran towards the train, and I  banged on the window, telling the train to stop.  The passengers in the train were having such a fright, they also saw what happened.
One of the surprised passengers stood up and ran to the ticket man and hurriedly told him to stop the train. The ticket man ignored him at first, until he looked up and saw outside the window, legs moving in the air. 
Startled, the ticket man stopped what he was doing and ran towards the door. He reached up and hit the big red button and the train halted to a stop. The sound of the brakes, metal clunking and screeching, slowly the train stopped, and from a distance, I saw James had let go and his body dropped on to the platform. 
Scared and nervous I was hoping that he was not seriously injured. So I ran as fast as I could towards him. All I could see was no movement from him. A crowd had gathered around as I was trying to make my way through to him. I saw James lying on the ground and he was slowly moving. I cried to see him in this kind of state. I looked down at him, saying to myself  ‘I’ve failed to keep you safe’. As I was crying I did not notice that James was sitting up, looking at me. James said ‘Dad, are you ok?’. I looked up quickly to see his bright blue eyes staring at me with worry.
Relieved and calm, I pulled him towards me and hugged him breathlessly.
“Yes i am ok son”.  “Are you ok?”  I asked gently.  
“Just a scratch on my knee, i'm definitely ok dad”  Standing up we headed out towards the exit of the station.
‘Let's go home’.
